With the support of MultiContact Consulting’s experts, MVM NET Zrt. successfully completed the extension of its ISO 27001 certification scope. The project not only ensured continued regulatory compliance but also significantly improved operational efficiency and strengthened the organization’s information security posture.
As one of Hungary’s leading telecommunications service providers, MVM NET Zrt. delivers nationwide network and IT solutions to the public sector, defence organisations, and the energy industry. The objective of the project was to extend, update, and further integrate the existing Information Security Management System (ISMS) into the company’s operational framework.
Key Activities and Consulting Contribution
To ensure the successful delivery of this complex initiative, the project was divided into several well-structured sub-projects. MultiContact Consulting provided a dedicated team of consultants with expertise in project management, information security, process improvement, business analysis, and software development.
Particular emphasis was placed on:
- extending the Information Security Management System to cover core business processes.
- updating the Business Continuity Plan and Disaster Recovery Plan.
- analysing and documenting critical business processes.
- conducting a comprehensive enterprise-wide risk assessment.
- designing a dedicated access rights management framework and supporting governance model.
- rationalising and harmonising development and operational policies and procedures across the organisation.
The project was delivered in accordance with PMI and ITIL principles, supported by a combination of on-site and remote workshops, structured stakeholder communication, and executive decision-support activities.
Results
The project delivered the following measurable outcomes:
- Involvement of 40 employees from MVM NET Zrt.
- Completion of 96 structured interviews, representing a total of 192 hours.
- Development of 48 regulatory and process-related documents.
- Creation of 22 process procedures and 12 work instructions.
- Introduction of 5 new internal policies.
- Achievement of 100% governance coverage across technical domains.
- Delivery of a fully functional, custom-developed access rights management system.
As a result of the consulting engagement, not only was the ISO 27001 certification scope successfully extended, but the organisation’s internal operations also became more transparent, structured, and effectively governed. The long-term sustainability of the project outcomes was supported through staff and management training programmes, as well as dedicated workshops.
MVM NET Zrt. expressed a highly positive assessment of the collaboration, which subsequently led to further consulting engagements based on the successful results achieved.
